Sileby Rangers became the first club to book a quarter final place in the Northants Junior Cup, winning their third Round tie at Northants Combination pacesetters Blisworth 4-1.
Foster led the way with his couble strike, while Greg Ling and Shaun Goodall made up the Rangers tally. All the other ties were postponed.
On a day when several games fell foul of the rain and waterlogged pitches, there were no such problems for ON Chenecks in the United Counties League Division One as they hosted Whitworth at Billing Road.
And it proved to be a good day for Chens as they eased to a 4-1 victory thanks to goals from Calvin Budd, James Allcock and two from Harry Barnes.
Elsewhere, lowly Bourne surprised Raunds 2-0 at Kiln Park with goals from ex-Shopmate Fernand Bass and Ben Easson, both in stoppage time.
Eynesbury strengthened their promotion challenge with a 2-0 success at Olney, Ben Cole and Lee Bassett on target either side of half time.
Two Martin Wormall penalties and a Lee Shaw effort gave Harrowby a 3-2 home win over Potton who replied through Nick Cooper and Sam Worthington.
In the premier division, Cogenhoe United’s game fell foul of the weather, but Long Buckby did get to play at Yaxley and probably wished they hadn’t bothered as they were beaten 3-2.
Bucks actually raced into a 2-0 lead through Mike Houghton’s first-half double, but Yaxley got back into it through Ricky Hailstone before goals in the final eight minutes from Ondre Odain and Luke Hipwell won it for the home side.
Premier Division leaders St Ives were among the waterlogged pitch casualties and Quorn took advantage to take over pole position with a 2-1 success at Huntingdon.
Town went ahead with a Declan Rogers free kick in first half added time but a 65th minute leveller from Kris Nurse – his 20th goal of the season – proved a turning point and substitute Liam Turner glanced in a Tyrone Kirk free kick five minutes from time to take the Leicestershire side to the top.
Holbeach are three points off the pace in third after a 1-0 home win over Newport Pagnell. Andy Tidswell was the Tigers matchwinner with a 58th minute diving header.
Shepshed were the day’s biggest winners, beating AFC Kempston 4-0 at The Dovecote.
Liam Fitzpatrick and Steve Chaplin were Dynamo’s first half marksmen with Fitzpatrick again on target in the second period along with Kieran Davies.
Harborough notched up a third successive win, their 3-1 victory at Peterborough Northern Star lifting them out of the bottom three.
A Lewis Stone own goal had the visitors in front at the break and further goals from Ben Barton and Jake Bettles sealed the win either side of Billy Smith’s penalty reply.
Next-to-bottom Wellingborough saw two points slip through their grasp at Blackstones where Danny Barker’s last minute goal gave the home side a 3-3 draw.
Robbie Pearce’s Stones opener was matched by Glen Hawkins late in the first half and the Doughboys twice led in the second half through Nathan Heycock and Jon Tite’s free kick, Luke Hunnings replying with the first home leveller.
