A 49-year-old man appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court today charged with the murder of a woman in Daventry.
Erroll Anglin, of no fixed abode, is charged with the murder of Christine Kerry-Anne Haye-Levy on Tuesday.
Anglin appeared in court wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
The case was committed to Northampton Crown Court and Anglin, who has been remanded in custody, will appear there tomorrow morning.
Police reported yesterday that a man from Daventry had been charged with the murder of a 36-year-old woman from the town following an incident at a property in Jervis Close, Daventry, on Tuesday.
A spokesman said a forensic post mortem revealed that the woman died from internal bleeding due to a stab wound to her collarbone which penetrated her lung, and she had four other significant stab injuries to her face, chest and arm.
They said they arrived at an address in Grenville Close, close to Jervis Close, on Tuesday at around 2.15am, where they found the woman bleeding heavily from her head.
Police said she was taken to Northampton General Hospital, where she died a short while later.
They said two young children, aged five and two, were recovered safe and well from the property in Jervis Close and were taken into the care of social services.
