Some of Britain’s top hockey players will compete in the Maxifuel Super Sixes semi finals which takes place in Northamptonshire this weekend.

Among the players will be Northamptonshire Olympian Anne Panter who plays for Leicester.

The semi-finals take place at the Kettering Arena on Saturday January 12.

Leicester will play Reading at 6pm followed by Bowdon Hightown and Sutton Coldfield at 7.30pm.

Jonathan Cockcroft, commercial and membership director from England Hockey board, said: “The Maxifuel Super Sixes Finals event is the pinnacle of hockey’s indoor game and what better way to showcase our British Olympians.

“For many families it’s the affordability factor that deters them from live sporting events, but we have specifically designed these indoor championships to be a fun, inexpensive day out for all ages.”

Last year saw wins from East Grinstead who were crowned men’s champions and Leicester Ladies, who stormed to victory in the women’s final.

Doors open at 5pm and tickets cost £6 for adults and £3 for under 16s.
