A bar in Daventry has been forced to close at 11pm in the wake of licence breaches and disorder.
The No.1 Pizza and Fish Bar in North Street, had an alcohol licence until midnight and stay open serving food and refreshments until 3am, but Daventry District Council’s licensing committee today revoked the premises licence.
The move means the business can no longer sell alcohol and hot food cannot be sold after 11pm, effectively closing the business at that time.
The bar operator has three weeks from today to lodge an appeal to magistrates.
Sergeant Mark Worthington, of Northamptonshire’s Nightsafe and Licensing team, said: “This decision send outs a strong message to other licensed premises that firm action will be taken against those premises where breaches are reported.”
