People in Northampton whose bins have been missed due to snow are being asked to keep leaving out their rubbish and food waste for collection.
Northampton Borough Council said crews have been working hard since mid-morning on Monday to clear waste collections missed on Friday and Saturday.
It said they are still catching up, which has had a knock-on effect on Monday’s collections.
A spokesman said: “The advice to householders who have had a missed collection today is to leave out their refuse and food waste and the crews will be there to collect them as soon as they can.
“Any uncollected dry recyclables, for example paper, glass, cans and plastics, should be taken back in and put out for the next scheduled collection.”
He added: “The crews’ priority for Tuesday is to continue to clear any missed collections. Householders should put out their refuse and recycling on their scheduled day but are warned to expect a delay in collection.”
Brown bin collections, for garden waste, have also been suspended until further notice.
