A historic Northampton beer festival which has been running for more than 25 years will not take place in this year.
The Northamptonshire Beer Festival, which traditionally takes place at Delapre Abbey in May, has been cancelled by Northants CAMRA for health and safety reasons.
Last year’s event featured 300 beers and its success enabled organisers to donate £5,000 to the Chron’s Macmillan appeal.
A statement from branch chairman Phil Greenway, published on the Northants CAMRA website, said: “Following the annual general meeting it has been decided to cancel the 2013 Northamptonshire CAMRA Beer Festival at Delapré Abbey, as the health and safety implications are now beyond the resources of the branch.”
