The men charged with the murder of Northampton tattooist Joe Kent appeared at Luton Crown Court today.

Samir Bostan, Tariq Bostan and Hamza Noor face charges relating to the death of 24-year-old Mr Kent.

Mr Kent, who was married and lived in Milton Keynes, worked at the Lucky 13 tattoo studio in Kingsthorpe

He died after an incident outside Xscape at 3am on Sunday, January 13.

The trio had originally been charged with GBH, but the charges were reviewed by Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service after Mr Kent died at Milton Keynes Hospital last Tuesday – just one day before his 25th birthday.

Samir Bostan, 25, of Wolston Meadow, Middleton, Tariq Bostan, 26, from Luton, and Mr Noor, 22, from Wembley, originally appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. They were remanded in custody until today’s hearing.

Today’s case was adjourned. A plea hearing will now be held at Luton Crown Court in April, and a provisional trial date has been set for July.

Last week newlywed Mr Kent’s family paid tribute to the popular dummer, who performed in city band, Roots.

A statement written by his brother Matt said: “Joe was the most amazing brother anyone could have asked for. He’s been there for me through everything and I, like everyone else, will miss him always and always.

“I will do my best to reply to as many of the messages we have received as I can, but I personally want to thank everyone who sent a message at this horrible time.”

Mr Kent had been out with friends celebrating the birthday of his wife Emma, who he married just five months ago, on the night of the incident.
