Bosses at a health centre have pledged to meet concerned residents after it faced some criticism over standards of care.
Kings Heath Residents Association recorded several complaints about the quality of care at Kings Heath Practice, in North Oval, since a change of management in October 2010.
Concerns included the alleged lack of a regular doctor or nurse on duty; repeat prescriptions disappearing from the computer system and long waiting times for appointments.
Cases were also recorded of patients being asked to travel to Lings Brook because there was no doctor available to see them.
Assura Coventry, part of Virgin Care, runs the centre and said it was looking to set up a meeting with residents.
Roger Bates, who runs The Bike Shed shop in Park Square, Kings Heath, said he was frustrated with his care after being diagnosed with diabetes.
He said: “You need to be able to see the same doctor most of the time and you need to have follow-ups. If you saw a TV series with it on you would laugh.”
A spokesman for Virgin Care said: “Any patient who is unhappy about the service we provide is contacted directly as part of our complaints procedure. We have a practice manager who has been working in the area for many years. Any issues can be raised with her at reception, by phone or by letter.
“We would like to apologise to Kings Heath Residents’ Association if it feels we haven’t taken its concerns seriously and look forward to a meeting with members, which we are hoping to schedule within the next month.”
