Fire crews used thermal imaging equipment, lamps and a a specialist ‘snake-eye’ optical tool to search for a kitten called Pumpkin, but were still unable to tace the missing moggy.
Firefighters from Mereway were called to a property in Ashpole Spinney, Northampton at 2.30pm on Sunday following reports of a kitten trapped behind kitchen units.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service said: “Despite an extensive search of the property from top to bottom using lamps, a thermal imaging camera and a specialist ‘snake-eye’ optical tool which allows inspection of confined spaces the crews were unable to locate the missing kitten.
“Advice was given to the occupiers.”
