A man has been jailed for nine years for six robberies at bookmakers and supermarkets in Northampton last year.
Mohammed Hassan, aged 23, from Lasham Court, Northampton, was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court last week.
He denied the six offences and was found guilty following trial.
Hassan was sentenced to five years each for the first five offences, all to be served concurrently.
He was also sentenced to four years for the sixth offence, to be served consecutively.
The last offence was aggravated by the fact he had been on bail when he committed the offence.
The robberies took place over a 12-week period at the following locations.
February 29: Corals, Farmfield Court, Northampton
March 9: Betfred, Kettering Road, Northampton
March 9: Betfred, St Leonards Road, Northampton
March 9: Co-op, Fieldmill Square, Northampton
March 12: Co-op, Bushland Road, Northampton
May 19: Corals, Farmfield Court, Northampton
Det Con Simon Chamberlain, who led the investigation, said: “This has been a protracted and complex enquiry involving numerous locations, victims, witnesses, and a suspect not willing to admit any guilt.
“I am very pleased with the result and hope this passes a message to other offenders that they cannot simply commit these types of crimes and get away with it, they will be found and prosecuted.”
