Vandals have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage after a wrecking spree at a Northampton-based charity’s base.
The attacks at Northamptonshire Association for the Blind (NAB) in Wardington Court, Kingsthorpe, saw a stone wall demolished and windows smashed with pieces of the wall.
It is the fifth such incident in the last three months - the bill for which is already more than £1,000.
The charity will now have to pay the new repair bill with more money which would have been spent helping blind and partially-sighted people.
John Ward, from the charity, is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
He said: “This has not happened quickly. Somebody must have seen something happening.
“A stone wall was demolished and they used that to break double-glazed windows. They also smashed windows of bungalows we have on site.
“It is putting blind and partially-sighted people at risk. The bill is certainly going to be in the thousands.
“We regularly have youths hanging round about 6.30pm each day. My point is these are somebody’s children, and somebody must know what has gone on.
“This has happened four or five times over the last three months. And on none of the occasions has anyone attempted to break in.”
Mr Ward said the incident happened sometime between Friday night and Monday morning. Anyone with information can call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
Vandals have also recently struck at nearby Kingsthorpe Library, damaging a door.
