Saints duo Ben Foden and Lee Dickson have been released by England ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations clash with France.
But forwards Tom Wood, Dylan Hartley and Courtney Lawes have been retained for the game at Twickenham and will hope to be in the Red Rose starting line-up which will be announced at 10.15am on Thursday.
For full-back Foden and scrum-half Dickson it’s more disappointment, with neither playing any part in the opening two games of the tournament.
Dickson will now definitely be available for Saints crunch Premiership game against Bath at the Gardens on Saturday.
And Foden should also be involved, despite having his fitness, which has been hampered by an early-season ankle ligament injury, closely monitored by the RFU.
