Rugby & Northampton AC 800m runner Damien Moss has been forced to retire due to an ongoing Achilles injury.
The 30-year-old from Kingsthorpe, who represented Great Britain in the 2008 World Indoor Championships in Valencia, decided to call it a day after a string of setbacks since 2009.
“I received a cortisone injection to my right achilles tendon but it didn’t fix the problem,” said Moss, who also represented Britain at under-23 level.
“And after so many injuries it just felt right to retire from the sport and pursue other interests.”
Moss has now turned his attentions to working as a personal trainer, based at Better Bodies Gym on Freehold Street in Northampton.
