A robber armed with an axe held up a delivery driver outside McDonald’s in Riverside Retail Park, police have confirmed.
The armed robbery happened yesterday, between 7.55am and 8.05am, outside McDonalds, in Marquee Drive.
A police spokesman said: “A Loomis transit driver was approached by a man outside McDonalds.
“The man threatened the driver with an axe and stole a cash box from him. The offender then got onto a scrambler bike, which was being driven by another man, and drove off.”
Police say the bike is believed to have been red.
The robber was white, in his 30s, medium build, 5ft 10in, and was wearing a black woolly hat and a blue hooded top.
