UCL ROUND-UP: Sileby see their lead cut to a single point

Sileby Rangers were without a game on Saturday, and saw their lead at the top of UCL Division One cut to just one point as rivals Eynesbury and AFC Rushden & Diamonds both won.

Eynesbury edged out Rushden & Higham 1-0 at Hall Road with a Lee Bassett goal midway through the first half, while Diamonds were 3-0 winners at Bugbrooke with Aaron King, Jack Wisniewski and Lance Allen on the scoresheet.

Rushden & Diamonds and Eynesbury both have the chance to go to the top of the table tomorrow night (Tues), as they meet at the Dog & Duck while Sileby are again without a game.

ON Chenecks drew 1-1 against Wootton at Billing Road, where manager Graham Cottle’s first half Chenecks opener was cancelled out by a Jonny Richens reply after the break.

Harrowby were the day’s biggest winners handing Rothwell Corinthians a 6-0 Dickens Road drubbing.

The prolific Martin Wormall scored twice for the Arrows who also had Simon Bolland, Luke Peberdy, Craig Wilson and Sam Hill on the mark.

Two John Currall goals and one from Tom Waumsley saw Bourne to a 3-2 home win over Potton who replied through Nick Cooper and Steve Thomas.

Whitworth surprised hosts Raunds 1-0 at Kiln Park with Ryan Lovell the Flourmen matchwinner.

In the premier division, Long Buckby are still searching for that elusive win after they were held to another draw at Station Road.

This time it was Desborough that earned a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Dan Mullarkey scored the opener for Buckby, but Ben Williams levelled the match.

St Ives moved to within eight points of leaders Holbeach with two matches in hand by winning 3-1 at next to bottom Harborough.

Dan Newman, Karl Gibbs and Jon Stead gave the Saints the points with Taras Petranyuk the home marksman.

Fourth-placed Quorn picked up their first away win of the year, 5-0 at bottom markers Irchester.

Kadeem Price scored a first half hat trick and was joined on the scoresheet late on by Wade Ball and Liam Turner.

Blackstones and AFC Kempston shared the spoils in a 1-1 Lincoln Road stalemate, Andy Beech netting a late home leveller to cancel out a Joe Bradbury effort for the Walnut Boys. Sleaford beat Stewarts & Lloyds for the first time, Liam Tunstall and Ash Murrell on target in a 2-0 Eslaforde Park victory.
