The Prime Minister has been given a document outlining how the Government should help to boost Northamptonshire’s economy.
The leader of Northamptonshire County Council, Councillor Jim Harker (Con, Kettering Rural) presented David Cameron with the 10 Point Plan last week.
It details how the Government could help the county with such things as road building schemes and job creation.
Councillor Harker said: “These have been very challenging times for the country from a financial point of view, but this has inspired us to think of innovative solutions and already we’re starting to see positive signs in the economy.
“What this document does is show the Government how we intend to bring prosperity to Northamptonshire.
“However, as good as the ideas are and as ambition as we are, we still need help from Government and the plan also brings this to the attention of Whitehall.”
Specific projects the plan focuses on include the council’s plan to build a new headquarters for the authority in Northampton town centre and a bid to provide more school places in the county to keep track with the area’s growth.
