Six birdies in the last 10 holes helped Tom Anderson win the Overstone Park March Midweek Medal as the plus-two handicapper carded a brilliant gross 65.
Kash Naidu made a solid start and enjoyed a good finish to his round as he secured the runners-up spot by a single stroke from Paul Wilson (net 69).
Peter Thorpe edged one ahead of Roy Stanton in the March Seniors Order of Merit competition as a net 68 grabbed the first prize.
Stephen Byrom and Peter Keam won the second and third divisions respectively with a net 71 apiece.
Northants County
Steve Russell claimed a notable scalp in the March Midweek Medal as he beat former England and British Lions rugby union international Martin Bayfield to the main prize on countback.
After nudging one clear of Anton Elderton and Peter Utting in the first division, Russell’s better back nine in a net 65 was enough to lift him ahead of Bayfield, who won the second section by two from John Delves.
Cherwell Edge
Forty one points was the leading mark in the March Stableford as Darren Forbes birdied the 16th and 17th holes on his way to a large victory.
Neil Tombes, Ian Bowyer, Stephen Sadler and second division pacesetter Gavin Hansell were the closest challengers on 36 points.
Although Lee Attley matched the points tally of Forbes, he was playing with an inactive handicap and therefore missed out on the prizes.
Cold Ashby
Half a dozen net birdies were on the scorecard of Pat Courtney over the back nine of the March White Tee Stableford as he stormed to victory.
The 17-handicapper bagged 41 points to finish three ahead of David Walton, with David Aveyard and Stuart Nicholas a further two points off the pace.
Pars on three of the four short holes helped Jayne Neale seal victory in the Ladies March Medal as the 28-handicapper compiled an excellent net 66. Isobel Robertson was two shots back in second.
Staverton
Peter Hallford dropped just one stroke in a seven-hole stretch from the fourth in the Vets March Stableford as he pocketed the top prize with 39 points. Anthony Martin (38) was runner-up by one from Tom Langhorn.
High-handicappers Elaine Lydall and Christine Trueman fired the best two rounds in the Ladies March Medal as they finished first and second with scores of net 67 and 68 respectively.
Whittlebury
Countback was needed in the Mac’s Putter competition after Bob Cook and John Pearson finished a single point clear of the field on 40.
Cook, who finished runner-up in the previous 9 O’Clock Club event one week earlier, grabbed the honours thanks to back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes.
Kingsthorpe
Roland Joy had plenty to celebrate following the Alfa Romeo Trophy after driving away with the top prize thanks to a round of net 67.
The 16-handicapper needed countback to secure the honours after finishing level with Simon Lee and Greg Meagher, who carded 12 pars and a birdie at the 15th hole whilst winning the top section.
Brampton Heath
John Norrey enjoyed a single stroke success in the March Medal as a round of net 68 pushed him clear of the chasing pack.
Paul Reynolds collected the runners-up prize on countback from Wayne Wright and Ian Hamilton.
Silverstone
One point was the margin of victory in the latest Pro Shop Stableford as Chris James (39) edged out John Bradley and Phil Carter, who were second and third respectively.
