Robbers stole six Israeli koi carp from a garden in Duston, police have revealed.
The theft of the fish happened over the last month.
A police spokesman said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses following the theft of six Israeli koi carp from a garden pond in Northampton.
“The fish were stolen from the back garden of a property in Lasham Court sometime between Monday, February 25, and Wednesday, March 13.
“All of the fish are between five and eight inches wide. The fish are of various colours ranging from plain grey to plain brown, grey and orange, dark grey with red and brown markings, and white with grey and red markings.
“Officers would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the offenders in the area with large bags or buckets that may have contained the stolen fish.”
