Very late (about three months) breaking news: Remember the fanfare that surrounded Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership and its finest patrons, the county council, winning the (two-horse) race to become the UK’s entry in the European Enterprise Promotion Awards?
You know the one where we were named the most enterprising place in Britain.
Yes? Well we completely omitted to follow up how our entry fared in the final in Cyprus last November.
This was probably due to not getting a public relations nudge from either County Hall or NEP’s PR people in Oxfordshire.
We’ve no idea who might have made the trip to Nicosia for the awards, but we do know the UK entry didn’t win on this occasion. Better luck next year. PS: Contracts have gone out for a “one-off” event on Thursday, June 27: The county council’s Celebrating Success Awards, first launched by La Fraise, Kathy Kerswell. It runs until 2am. Expect a productive day on June 28.
