Niall O’Brien will return to first-team action this afternoon when the Steelbacks take on Yorkshire in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
The Irish wicketkeeper last appeared for the County in June as David Murphy has made himself a fixture behind the stumps.
However, O’Brien gets the opportunity to shine in front of the Sky cameras tonight as Northamptonshire continue their disappointing one-day campaign.
Another man in with a chance of making a rare appearance is fast bowler Luke Evans.
He has not featured at all this season after undergoing back surgery.
Youngsters Rob Keogh and Olly Stone are also included in the 12-man squad.
