Northampton could experience its first white Easter for 25 years, weather forecasters are predicting.
Mike Lewis, station manager at Pitsford Hall Weather Station, has said the current cold spell will continue for the remainder of this week and into the Easter weekend with snowfall expected on most days.
Mr Lewis said it could end up being the coldest March in Northampton since 1963.
He said: “With further light flurries of snow expected on most days, the county could very well see its first white Easter for 25 years.
“In fact, temperatures during March have on average been around 4.5C below the monthly average.
“With little improvement in temperatures expected between now and the end of the month, March 2013 could end up being the coldest March in Northampton since 1963.”
