Northamptonshire’s skies will be filled with balloons this month as the annual Balloon Festival returns this month.
The event, which is returning for its 23rd year, takes place on August 17, 18 and 19 at Billing Aquadrome in Northampton where it is being held for the fourth time.
Peter Angelides, business development director at Billing Aquadrome said: “We hope it will be a spectacular sight in the skies over us and Northamptonshire.
“While ballooning is a weather dependent activity, the balloonists want to fly so if the conditions allow, the balloons will be flying at both 6am and 6pm on each day.”
Billing Aquadrome will also host the ‘Zone’, which is linked to the London Olympics and Paralympic Games.
It will allow visitors to discover how their bodies work during sport, movement and rest.
The show will run all day with demonstrations, theatrical introductions and video.
At 9pm on the Saturday night, there will be the regular balloon glow where the hot air balloons are turned into giant lanterns tethered to the ground.
There will also be fun fair rides, traders, craft tents, food courts and the American Auto Club International car show during the weekend.
