Northamptonshire’s new overseas player Trent Copeland arrives early this week and he will be in buoyant mood following a match-winning performance for his club side in the Sydney First Grade final.
Copeland took seven for 43 in Sutherland’s second innings as St George claimed a nine-wicket success at Bankstown Oval.
Having taken two for 59 in the first innings and made 62 in his side’s first effort with the bat, Copeland picked up the Benaud Medal as the man of the match.
The New South Welshman is expected to arrive in time to take his place in the Northants side for their County Championship opener against Glamorgan which starts on Wednesday.
