A man has appeared before Northampton Crown Court this afternoon accused of murdering a 48-year-old in a block of flats in Abington.
Kristian Kopco, aged 21, appeared in court to face one charge of killing Timothy Keam (pictured above) inside Sears House, in Adnitt Road.
Both men lived in the block of flats, although police have refused to say whether they were flatmates.
A post mortem found Mr Keam died from head injuries.
His family this afternoon released this photograph of him.
Kopco appeared before Judge Rupert Mayo today, who indicated a trial was likely to last for seven days and would be held in September.
No pleas were entered and no bail application was made.
Mr Keam’s body was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday, April 3, in Sears House, Adnitt Road.
Kopco was then arrested shortly after 3.30am in Clarke House, in nearby Roe Road.
Following the death, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Behan, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), said: “From myself, Northamptonshire Police and the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), we offer our sincere condolences to Mr Keam’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are still appealing for anyone with information to contact us.
“This is an isolated incident and we continue to strive to make Northamptonshire a safer place.”
