A burglar who attacked and stole from elderly people, some as old as 90, in Northampton been jailed for seven years at Northampton Crown Court.
Joseph Delaney, aged 32 from Northampton, pleaded guilty to three offences of aggravated burglaries and one offence of robbery.
The offences occurred in September last year, in the Delapre, Far Cotton and Briar Hill.
Detective Constable Katie Morrison said: “These were unprovoked attacks on innocent elderly victims in their homes.
“After long protracted enquiries by a team of detectives, who worked closely with the victims, their families and the Crown Prosecution Service, we are very pleased with this sentence and hope that this serves as a future deterrent to those who target vulnerable members of our community.
“I am pleased that Delaney pleaded guilty and prevented the victims from having to relive the trauma by attending court.”
Delaney was jailed for a total of seven years and was handed an extended sentence of three years.
It means he will spend three years on licence after his prison sentence ends.
