Northampton JLB made it an all Town League NBC Cup final against Sporting Lings by beating Northants Combination outfit FC Higham 2-1.
Higham took the lead before Francis Maiter hit the equaliser for JLB and with 15 minutes remaining on the clock up popped ace marksman Daniel Jennings to net the winner to set up an all Town League final against Sporting Lings scheduled to be played at Sixfields on May 4.
In-form Sporting Lings recorded a super 4-2 League Cup victory over Northampton Harlequins courtesy of a goal a-piece from David Akinbowale, Roman Radocha, James Church and Matt Moseling leaving Stefon Chambers and Matthew Thornbar to hit the Quins’ retort.
Premier pace-setters Delapre Old Boys beat Duston Dynamo 2-0 to progress into the next round.
John Slater and Leon Cosford scored for Delapre and it would have been a heavier defeat but for some outstanding saves from the Duston keeper.
In the premier division, Spartak just edged out Thorplands Club 81 by the odd goal in three thanks to a brace from Frazer Francis while a Richard Dunkley solo effort accounted for Thorplands’ reply.
Mereway United eased to a convinvcing 6-1 triumph over Yusen Logistic moving up to second spot.
Justin Wiles led the scoring with a well taken hat-trick and was well supported with singles from Andre Paul-Condor, Mark Partington and Andrew Kendrick. Yusen’s consolation came via S Nightingale.
