Woman bitten on arm during dog attack in Northampton

A woman required hospital treatment after she was attacked by a large Alsatian dog near to a shop in Northampton.

The woman was walking to the Fourways shop near to Kingslands Avenue, St Davids, when she was bitten on the arm by the dog, which was on a lead at the time.

During the attack, the owner shouted at the dog before both the owner and the dog ran away from the scene. The owner referred to the dog as Tia or a similar sounding name.

The woman was taken to hospital after the attack and needed stitches to close the wound in her arm.

Police today released details of the incident which took place on Sunday, March 24, between 2.30pm and 3pm,

A police spokesman said the owner of the dog is believed to be a “white man”.
