A cyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries yesterday morning after a crash in Brackmills industrial estate.

The crash happened shortly after 8am, as commuters were heading into work, at the junction of Caswell Road and Pavilion Drive.

A brown Kia Sportage was travelling along Pavilion Drive and as it approached the junction with Caswell Road, it collided with the cyclist.

The 47-year-old male cyclist from Milton Keynes suffered serious injuries.

Police and paramedics were called to the road scene and the road was closed to allow the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to land.

Eyewitness Phillip Buchan, aged 41, of The Mounts, Northampton, who was on his way to work, said: “I saw the impact. The cyclist pulled out and looked like he was trying to get a gear. The car collided with him as he was coming around the roundabout.

“It looked like the cyclist was trying to get across to the other side, to the cycle lanes. He was definitely conscious.”
