COBBLERS midfielder Michael Jacobs has officially rejected a substantially improved new contract offer to stay with the club and seems set to leave Sixfields.
The Rothwell-born prospect has already attracted considerable interest from teams in both the Premier League and the Championship with the Cobblers already rejecting a number of offers for his services.
It does now seem certain though that Jacobs, who is out of contract this summer, will start next season with a new club.
Jacobs has progressed through the Northampton Town Centre of Excellence and youth team to be a key member of the first team in the last two seasons.
