A NUISANCE gran who was handed a five-year ASBO because of her drinking and bad behaviour is breaching the order on “a weekly basis”, a court has heard.
Josephine Eze, aged 62, of no fixed abode, appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court last week charged with breaching her ASBO, which bans her from drinking alcohol in public.
Eze was spotted drinking a can of cider last Wednesday at around 2pm while sitting on a bench in St Peter’s Walk. When she was arrested, she told officers: “I want to go to prison, please take me.”
The ASBO was issued in September 2010.
However, the court heard she had breached it 16 times this year alone.
Magistrates’ adjourned the matter for probation to prepare reports on Eze to keep “all options open”. She was released on bail.
