The Chronicle & Echo’s website is the biggest regional newspaper website in Northamptonshire and one of the largest in the Midlands.

Every week, around 60,000 people visit our site. We have more people coming to our site on a daily basis than we used to sell daily papers. Combine that with the audience of the newspaper and our social media platforms, the Chron is now reaching more people than ever before.

And now, after feedback from users, our site has been given a fresh new look, with new content and improvements throughout the site.

There’s a new navigation system on the site that, once you become familiar with it, will make it easier to find the sections you are interested in.

Click HERE to complete the survey about our new-look website.

Anyone who replies to the survey about our new-look website will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win £100 of gift vouchers. No contact details will be shared with anyone else beyond the Northampton Chron.

There’s more content to choose from on the homepage as well, showcasing the depth of stories now available online.

There’s a new what’s on section, as well as links to the new WOW247 website, which features listings for the entire country.

Social media is playing a greater part in how we publish news and the Chron’s Twitter feed is now included on the homepage. Nearly 16,000 people follow the Chron on Twitter using @chronandecho. Every reporter has their own Twitter account, as well as feeds for @chronsport and @chronsnappers. The Facebook audience is nearly as large with around 13,500 ‘likes’.

Many of the stories that appear in the Chron have additional content online such as a video report or picture gallery.

The new-look website has an improved way of showing video and, increasingly, our reporters are using video as a way of telling the story to complement traditional words and pictures.

Our photographers take some fantastic pictures and we cannot publish all of them in the paper, but we can put them all online. It’s now much clearer which stories have picture galleries available. Look out in the paper for links to extra content online.

As with all change, we want to hear your thoughts on the new look.

I’ll be holding a web chat online on Friday May 10 from midday on our website – www.northamptonchron.co.uk. You can let me know what you think about anything to do with the Chron.
