Police sealed off a town centre street after a 27-year-old man was hit over the head with what officers believe may have been an iron bar in a violent attack in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Bradshaw Street was sealed off to allow forensics teams to search for evidence as a result of the attack, which happened between 1am and 2.25am on Saturday.
A police spokesman said: “The victim suffered a nasty head injury after being hit with an object, possibly an iron bar, and was taken to Northampton General Hospital.”
The attacker was desacribed as a white man, aged between 20 and 30, 6ft tall and stocky with a moustache.
No arrests have been made.
