Police have appealed for people to come forward after a man was arrested today in connection with three incidents when women and a girl in her teens were asked to get into a car in Northampton.

A man was driving a silver Mini and approached two women and the girl in three separate incidents within two hours of each other, which are being linked by detectives.

The first happened at around 6.20am, when a woman in her 60s was approached in St. Peter’s Way car park, in the town centre.

At around 6.55am, another woman in her 60s was then approached near Morrisons, in Victoria Promenade.

Then finally, a 13-year-old girl was approached on Millway, Duston, at around 8.10am.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in relation to this investigation and is currently in custody.

However, police would like to speak to anyone else who may have been approached in similar circumstances.

The man is described as Asian, aged in his 30s, with very short hair or a shaved head, and facial hair.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
