Police are to mark bicycles and give out crime prevention advice in the Market Square next weekend.
The event will be held in Northampton town centre between 11am and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Cyclists are invited to bring their bicycles along to be security marked free of charge.
Police Community Support Officer, Abbey Anstead, said: “If a security marked bicycle is stolen and recovered by police during one of our warrants or stop searches, it can be returned to its rightful owner.
“We will also be giving out tips to prevent people’s bikes from being stolen, as well as advice about riding bicycles responsibly in the town centre.”
Visitors are also encouraged to speak with officers about any issues they might have in their area.
