Rob Keogh’s half-century was the highlight of Northamptonshire’s rain-interrupted opening day against Loughborough MCCU.
Having been put in to bat by the students, the County wasted no time in piling on the runs with Keogh to the fore.
He cracked 56 from just 43 balls before becoming the first of four victims for Stu Whittingham.
No one else really managed to push on with stand-in skipper Kyle Coetzer - who shared a 79-run opening stand with Keogh - the next highest scorer as Northamptonshire finished on 165-5 having dodged the showers on most of the first day of three.
