Sharon Tansley’s rink were in fine form as Northants Ladies secured a superb 113-89 victory over Cambridgeshire in the Johns Trophy on Saturday.
The county players knew that they would be in for a competitive match against the hosting county, for their opponents have a sprinkling of international players and are always hard to beat in this premier national competition.
Tansley’s rink secured the biggest win with a 15-shot advantage, while Brenda Bishop and Jan Bradley both recorded six-shot wins.

County win seals place in regional finals
Northants men continued the county’s weekend success with a 35-33 victory over Huntingdonshire in the Balcomb Trophy double rinks competition at Kingsthorpe BC on Sunday.
The county will now play in the regional finals at St Neots BC on June 23.

County youngsters prepare for White Rose Trophy
The regional finals of the National White Rose Trophy double rinks competition will be held at Maulden BC on Sunday.
Following successes over Essex and Bedfordshire, Northants under-25s will be taking part. The county have been drawn to play Leicestershire in the regional semi-final.

Northants Ladies pegged back by Oxfordshire
Northants Ladies drew their Middle England League game against Oxfordshire at Banbury Chestnuts BC.
The county were always in front from the start and after 15 ends held a 14-shot lead, but Oxford came back strongly over the last few ends to snatch a 112-112 draw.

Parker leads the way for the under-25s
The county under-25s eased to a 40-shot victory over Leicestershire in their Midland Counties Ron Barston Trophy match at Abington BC on Sunday.
The highest winning rink was skipped by the experienced Will Parker and he and his players were relentless in their quest to win, which they did by the rather large scoreline of 34-7 shots.
