Kettering saw their perfect start to their group A campaign come to an end as they suffered a surprise 7-3 home defeat to Brampton Heath.
Despite winning both their previous home games, Kettering made an average start as they lost games two and four to trail by three holes with a couple of matches on the course.
Although the hosts managed to win the penultimate tie by a single hole, Brampton duo Don Field and Andy Churchill took the closing match by two holes to secure their second away victory of the year.
In group B, Daventry’s strength in the middle games proved decisive in their contest with Cherwell Edge as they maintained their unbeaten home record with a 9-5 victory.
Nathan Freezer and James Berry took game two by a couple of holes, Kevin Tarbox and Neil Tonks triumphed by five in the next tie, before Dan Brown and Tim Scull extended the home lead by two more.
Although Ben Anderson and John Thompson (two holes) took the opening tie for Cherwell, a half in game five and a three hole win in the final tie wasn’t enough to salvage the match.
Overstone Park made it four wins out of four in group C as Sean McGrae and Dave Mandley helped them secure a 12-7 away victory at Peterborough Milton.
A five hole win in the opener looked to have given Peterborough the ideal start, but the visitors gradually whittled away as they took the next two games by one hole, before Tony Ames and Chris Hoy levelled the score.
Milton clinched the last game by two holes, but it made no difference to the result after McGrae and Mandley recorded a seven hole success against Ryan Slater and Tony Vardaro.
Embankment are still searching for their first point of the season as they crashed to a second successive whitewash against Priors Hall, going down 15-0 away.
The Corby club were always in control after Darren Buchan and John Lenaghan took the first game by four holes and Graeme Thomson and Trevor Shiells doubled the lead in the next tie.
Embankment did better in the middle two matches, but Shay O’Connor and Ryan Sheerin (three holes) and Tam McGurn and Michael Jaffray (three holes) eased Priors to victory.
In group D, Hellidon Lakes extended their winning streak to a dozen games as the reigning champions produced a dominant 21-2 home victory over Delapre on Sunday.
Craig Cotterill and Clive Jennings handed the hosts the perfect start with a nine hole victory in game one, before Richard Barnes and Roy Trim clinched the next match by three.
A couple of four hole wins followed and although the fifth tie went to the visitors by two, Keith Meadham and Len Edwards completed the Hellidon scoring with a narrow victory in the final game.
Cold Ashby were only marginally less impressive in their home match with Staverton as they grabbed a 20-2 victory 24 hours earlier.
James Lovett and Stuart Thomas (nine holes) and Neil Smith and Jamie Underwood (seven holes) were in particularly good form as Ashby collected their first win of the season.
