Saints duo Alex Day and Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi helped England Under 20s claim IRB Junior World Championships glory with a 23-15 final win against Wales on Sunday evening.

The Red Rose youngsters came back from 15-3 down during the second half to claim a memorable victory in Vannes.

Scrum-half Day started the game, while prop Hobbs-Awoyemi came off the bench to play his part in the superb success.

England had tries from Jack Nowell and Sam Hill to thank, while fly-half Henry Slade added 13 points with the boot.

Wales had looked good to avenge their Six Nations defeat to their perennial rivals after Ashley Evans had scored twice and Sam Davies struck a conversion and a penalty.

But England had too much in the end, with the Saints players - Will Hooley and Tom Stephenson also played a part in the tournament - now able to return home boasting the tag of world champions.
