A driver was airlifted to hospital last night with “serious” injuries after a crash near Chapel Brampton in Northamptonshire.
Police are this morning appealing for witnesses following the crash, which involved three cars at around 4.30pm on the Welford Road.
Officers say a silver Peugeot 308, which was travelling north on the A5199, collided with a blue Ford Fiesta, going the opposite way.
A third car, described as a white Audi, which was travelling in the same direction as the Peugeot, then crashed into the back of the Peugeot.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 48-year-old woman from Northampton, was airlifted to Walsgrave Hospital with “serious injuries”.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Ford Fiesta were taken by land ambulance to Northampton General Hospital with “minor injuries”.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are especially keen to speak with a driving school car that was travelling north just before the collision occurred.”
