A clubber had his face “slashed” with a knife following a fight outside a nightclub in Northampton town centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, required stitches to the facial wound following the knife attack, which happened on Sunday, between 1.45am and 2.15am.
It happened outside Academy, in College Street, off Gold Street.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the “serious assault” and say “a large number of people” were outside the nightclub at the time of the incident and could have witnessed the attack.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police today said: “A 20-year-old man was in a fight with two men outside Academy nightclub.
“One of the two offenders used a knife to slash the face of the victim, causing serious facial injuries which required stitches.
“A large number of people were outside the nightclub at the time of the incident and police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the fight.
“The 20-year-old victim is described as a black man, 6ft tall, of slim build and wearing a grey hooded top, black jeans and black trainers.
“One of the offenders is described as a black man in his 20s, 6ft 2in, of muscular build with dreadlocked hair in a pony tail with a white cloth wrapped around it. He was wearing skinny jeans and white trainers.
“The other offender is described as a black man in his 20s, 6ft 2in, of muscular build with short black cropped hair. He was wearing a grey loose-fitting top.”
