Residents in a road in Abington have revealed the moment armed police tracked a BMW into their street and then searched his car at gun point this evening.
A police helicopter tracked a silver BMW into Adams Avenue, in Northampton, at around 4.30pm.
There, armed police surrounded the car, sealed off the street and shouted for the driver to leave the vehicle.
He was then asked to kneel down in the street, with his hands on his head, while police dogs and officers searched his car.
A police spokesman this evening said the car had been tracked by police from outside the county following an ANPR hit.
No arrests are believed to have been made at the scene.
One eyewitness told the Chronicle & Echo: “They were pointing guns at the car and they were yelling.
“They were shouting at him to get out of the car.
“They were searching the car and they got the dogs out but they then let him go.”
