Every day this month the Chron will be teaming up with the Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) to feature a ‘Business of the Day’ – giving you more information about an independent firm in the town.
Today, we highlight Leopold’s in Abington Street.
Serving delicious coffee to go with exquisite hand-made Belgian chocolates, pastries and afternoon scones, Leopold’s has added a touch of class to Abington Street since opening in 2011.
Smart, uniformed staff offer table service, bringing freshly ground Illy coffee to the customer while a range of tasty sandwiches and soft, buttery jacket potatoes ensure lunchtimes are always a popular time for a visit.
Owner Mark Walker, said: “When we opened we knew we wanted to go for really top class luxury. If you go into some of the other coffee shops in town, you have to queue with your drinks and carry your own tray. We prefer to allow our customers to sit down and be served.
“It’s an old- fashioned kind of luxury service but people love it. It’s good to be spoilt now and again.”
Leopold’s is one of only 21 outlets in the UK to stock sought after Leonidas chocolates, with a fresh delivery direct from Brussels every week.
Mr Walker said: “We have to jump through hoops to get them but they are wonderful.”
The café features work from a number of local artists on the wall, many of which are available to buy.
Leopold’s also offers a dedicated tea menu, featuring a total of 20 different black, fruit and herbal blends.
SPECIAL OFFER: Quote discount code ‘CHRONLEOPOLDS’ to book afternoon tea for two for £20 throughout July (normal price £25.80). Please note this applies to advance bookings only.
