A pensioner has appeared in court facing 12 charges of possessing indecent images of children.
Arthur Barnes is accused of 10 counts of possessing images of children and a further two of possessing pictures showing a person having sex with an animal.
Barnes, aged 65, of Martial Daire Boulevard, Brackley, was arrested in August 2011 after his wife told police she had suspicions he was interested in indecent images, Northampton Magistrates Court heard today.
With regard to the images of children, Barnes faces charges of possessing pictures from levels one to five, with one being the least serious and five the most serious.
Barnes did not enter any pleas and will appear for a preliminary hearing at Northampton Crown Court later this month.
He was released on bail, under the conditions he does not access the internet or have any unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 17.
