A record entry will take part in an annual Dragon Boat Festival, organised by the four rotary clubs of Northampton.
The 10th annual staging of the event takes place on Sunday at Midsummer Meadow, and entry is free. There will be racing all day, starting from 10am, as well as sideshows and stage entertainment.
David Hourihan, chairman of the organising committee, said: “We have got 39 teams this year, the most we have ever had. We are normally limited to 36.” Prizes will be presented at the end of racing at around 5pm.
