Two motorcyclists have been airlifted to hospital after separate accidents on the A5 within an hour of each other.
Both male riders were taken by Air Ambulance to Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry, but neither have life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
The first incident was reported to police at 11.50am, and involved a car and a motorcycle on the A5 near Paulerspury.
The second was reported just before 12.50pm, and involved a motorcycle only. It led to the closure of the A5 at Old Stratford, which has caused long delays northbound at the A422 junction.
Traffic has been diverted onto the A508, to rejoin the A5 at Yardley Gobion.
Sergeant Kevin O’Keefe, of Northamptonshire Police, said: “With more motorcyclists being on the road in this kind of weather, we are asking drivers to be motorcycle aware, and motorcyclists to ride carefully.”
