Every day this month the Chron is teaming up with the Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) to feature a ‘Business of the Day’ – giving you more information about an independent firm in the town.
Today, we highlight Bohemian Finds in Market Walk.
Bohemian Finds
Market Walk, Northampton
A graphic designer by trade, Gretchen Larkin gave up her day job 12 months ago to pursue her passion for fashion.
Since then, her store Bohemian Finds has become the ‘go-to’ place in Northampton for vintageinspired clothing, with a vast array of 1950s-themed dresses, accessories, shoes and a growing range of men’s clothing.
She said: “I got fed up sitting behind a computer screen and clothes are my guilty pleasure. People want to look a bit different these days and we stock items that you can’t get elsewhere on the High Street.
“Vintage is having a huge reprieve and the 50sin particular are back big time, girls love that era for prom dresses and we have some grannies who are still going to rockabilly nights.
“We don’t want just one target audience, that’s too narrow. The other day we had three generations of one family come in together and they loved it and and all left with something different, which sums up what we’re all about.
“We try to be eccentric, quirky and a bit different. We know we might not be everyone’s cup of tea but those that like us, love us.”
Bohemian Finds has enjoyed a successful first 12 months in Northampton and is already looking to
expand, with the possibility of a second store opening soon.
