Today, we highlight Clues Clothing in College Street Mews.
Established in 1985, Clues Clothing originally started life as a menswear boutique. With a fastgrowing following the store quickly became one of the county’s favourite designer stores.
Before long, Clues began evolving and in doing so acquired a neighbouring womenswear boutique, expanding its appeal and customer base and establishing itself as one of the most respected outfitters in Northamptonshire.
Clues now stocks a number of leading brands including Diesel, Fred Perry, Religion, Ugg and French Connection, as well as a host of entry-level labels.
Manager Dominic Mann said: “We do things differently to the bigger chain stores, we are very much customer focused and we try to give people a nice shopping experience. We don’t pester people, I hate it when jump on people as soon as they set foot through the door, we’re much more relaxed.
“We’ve been here 28 years and in that time we’ve got to know a lot of our customers as friends. We want people to pop in and say hello and catch-up, it’s not always about selling, it’s about building relationships so that when they do want to buy something they will come to us.”
While designer labels will always be sought after, lower cost clothing has been a boom area in recent years and Clues also stock entry level fashion for those on a budget.
Mr Mann added: “We know that not everyone can afford to spend £50 on a t-shirt so we do stock cheaper items as well. People are pleasantly surprised when they see our prices.”
