THE Ringer matchwinning machine rolls on – conquering all – with Phil collecting the Barston rose bowl... along with £1,000 in winnings!

Last week his brother Steve won the Kamasan British Open there, but was in the cheap seats this time as Phil rattled out 161lb on feeder, alternating dead maggot and Ringer’s ‘bandems’.

Family patriarch Geoff, who won the bowl some years back, said: “He was catching all through. I could see him as I watched my tip... which wasn’t moving much.”

Does luck, skill and that extra fishing ‘something’ run in families? Who could deny it with the Ringers around?

Dave Haddon (113-6) couldn’t go wrong in Cotton Club’s Stockton do – and when a carp jumped out
of his keepnet... it landed in his other one! Andy Whiting had 79-4 and Gary Chatfield 57-11.

White Hart Flore left Barby Banks 918lb to 672-12 ahead of Daventry following their clash...but are a tad apprehensive about the return leg on Tofts where they have yet to beat their hosts in years of trying!

‘Hart’s Mark Griffiths had 108-8 and Andy Pell 86-8, with Daventry’s Graham Cheney on 89-8.

Bream were well on for Abington’s park lake pairs
sweep with Alan Walter and Richard ‘Frank’ Hawkins totalling 49-12 as Rus Coleman and Mick Crane shared
49-3.

Mill Cotton ‘snake lake’, Ringstead, is fishing well again, according to Dan at Gilders, following heatwave oxygen problems.

A PB 24lb carp topped McKinley Mooney’s Bishops Bowl doubles haul, and seven 20s were caught in four days.

Chris Thacker topped Stanwick’s weekly parade of 20s with a 24-8 common from Mallard, as Craig Murby had a 21-8. Swan’s best was ‘Niven’s’ 21lb mirror.
