A strong squad of juniors from County LTC will be engaged in a few on-court battles of their own in the shadow of Cardiff’s city castle next week.
The six youngsters will be repeating the club’s 2011 trip across the border in a bid to plunder even more silverware than their last excursion, when Arthur Eyles won the 16U boys’ singles and teamed up with James Cole to land the 18U boys’ doubles.
Sponsored by Moulton Park building contractors Warwick Burt Construction, the County LTC party consists of Cole, Eyles, Harry Clements, Matthew Masters, Kate Clayson and Abbey Clifford, while coaches Dean Gayton, Steve Biss and Laura Mineards will be in tandem.
Gayton said: “We’re looking forward to taking this group of players away again and seeing how they compete in what appears to be a high level field and making sure they make a good representation of themselves and the club.”
Warwick Burt have provided the players with personalised hood tops and playing shirts.
