Brackley Town have announced first-team goalkeeper Billy Turley has left the club.
Turley has been No.1 this season as the Saints have secured an impressive nine wins from 10 games in their first season in the Blue Square Bet North.
The club remain unbeaten in the league, having conceded just seven goals, but after discussions with boss Jon Brady during midweek training it was decided Turley would leave the club.
The 39-year-old stopper, who lists Northampton and Rushden & Diamonds among his former clubs, moved to St James’ Park in the summer of 2010.
He endured a tough time during his first two campaigns at the club, with constant injury problems seeing him sidelined for long spells as Brackley sought promotion from the Southern League Premier Division.
They achieved it at the end of last season, with Turley between the sticks, and he started the season well.
But he struggled in last weekend’s 4-3 FA Cup third qualifying round defeat to Arlesey Town and the mutual decision was made to end his Saints career.
